かるた無病息災

というわけで、NHKによる海外向け国際放送『NHKワールド』のスポーツ番組『SPORTS JAPAN』にて、競技かるたが取り上げられるそうです。放送日は2015年2月8日で番組内容は以下のようになっています（原文そのまま）。

Competitive Karuta or Kyogi Karuta is much more than just a card game. It was a game of nobility centuries ago and has evolved into a competition that requires incredible memory and lightening reflexes. With highlights from the Queen Tournament, we take a look at what attracts people to the game and how battles can be decided in just a few hundredths of a second. We follow the amazing story of a champion who held the title of Queen for 10 years from the age of 15.

Takenori Ikehara
Takenori Ikehara, a Kyogi Karuta player who has reached the rank of 6th-dan, has been playing the game for 24 years. While actively taking part in tournaments in Japan and overseas, he is also working to popularize the game and help player development.
